The Republic of Kazakhstan celebrates many cultural, national and religious holidays every year. Many of them are accompanied by weekends. What holidays and weekends there are in Kazakhstan
Among the most significant holidays is the New Year. Its celebration begins on 31 December and continues through the first days of January.
Then, in spring, the Kazakhstani people celebrate Nauryz every year. This is a major holiday that usually lasts most of the week.
Among the major public holidays is the Independence Day of Kazakhstan.
It is celebrated on 16 December — it is a day off. Kazakhstanis also celebrate Constitution Day and Republic Day.
Kazakhstanis traditionally celebrate Kurban Ait and rest during International Women's Day on 8 March, the Holiday of Unity of the People of Kazakhstan on 1 May, Defender of the Fatherland Day on 7 May, Victory Day on 9 May, and Capital Day on 6 July.
All these holidays and weekends in the busy schedule of Kazakhstanis allow them to enjoy the festive atmosphere, spend time with family and friends, and relax from the daily hustle and bustle.
What's interesting in 2024
Many holidays this season fall at the end or beginning of the week.
This means that Kazakhstanis are in for long periods of rest with three or even four days off in a row.
In January, we have already enjoyed a long New Year's holiday and a long-awaited fairy-tale weekend.
In March, we will have a holiday in honour of March 8 and real holidays during the celebration of Nauryz, when the whole country will celebrate the arrival of spring.
May will please us with one-day holidays in honour of the Day of Unity of the People of Kazakhstan, Defender of the Fatherland Day and Victory Day. June will give several days off to celebrate Kurban Ait.
In July we will celebrate Capital Day and Constitution Day in August, which also fall at the end of the week, which means that we will have long weekends.
The next holiday weekend will be in October in honour of Republic Day, and December ends the period with a weekend in honour of Independence Day. The traditional weekend in early December in honour of the Day of the First President is no longer on the calendar, as the holiday no longer has the status of a state holiday.

January
In January, Republic of Kazakhstan had a long weekend. We celebrated the New Year from 31 December to 2 January. Also in January Christmas was held, the weekend without transfer fell on Sunday, 7 January.
Thus, Kazakhstanis had 10 weekends in January.
February
From 29 days of February, Kazakhstanis have a standard eight days off. There will be no additional holiday weekends.
March
March in the country will be full of holidays and weekends. The March holiday calendar is opened by the 8th of March. International Women's Day will be celebrated from the 8th to the 10th.
Then, in a couple of weeks we are waiting for Nauryz and the long-awaited weekend. The holiday will be celebrated in the country from 21 to 25 March for those who have a five-day working week.
Thus, in March there will be 14 days off out of 31 days. This month will be a great time to relax and enjoy the spring holidays. Put these days on your schedule to plan interesting leisure activities.
April
In April, as well as in February, no holidays are expected. Therefore, Kazakhstanis will have four Saturdays and four Sundays off. We work according to the standard calendar.
May
May will be marked by days off in honour of the Day of Unity of the People of Kazakhstan, Defender of the Fatherland Day and Victory Day. Residents of the country will celebrate three holidays, which will allow them to spend time with family and friends, as well as to honour the memory of heroes.
Weekends on these dates fall in the middle of the working week, will be single. Three holidays, three days off. In total, Kazakhstanis will have 11 days off in May.
June
In June in Kazakhstan we will have a day off in connection with the celebration of the holiday Kurban Ait, which will be celebrated on 17 June, taking into account Saturday and Sunday — 15 and 16 June, there are three weekends. This will also be a favourable time to take a break from the daily routine.
There will be a total of 11 weekends in June. Mark them in your schedule so you don't miss them.
July
Three weekends are expected in July 2024. Due to the fact that Capital Day falls on Saturday, Kazakhstanis will rest on 8 July, Monday. In total, there will be nine days of rest in July.
A great opportunity to enjoy the festive atmosphere and summer entertainment in the capital.
August
August also has three days off for Constitution Day, which will be held on the 30th. This will be a great excuse to relax after the summer worries and chores.
In total, there will be 10 weekends in August for your relaxation.
September
In September, Kazakhstanis will have nine days off, with no holiday weekends in this month.
October
October 2024 will give us three days off in honour of Republic Day from the 25th to the 27th, which will be an occasion for patriotic events and rest with the family.
There will be nine weekends in total.
November
The November 2024 calendar also features nine standard weekends in November. We'll have a busy schedule ahead of a busy December.
December
December finally sees the Independence Day weekend, we can enjoy the festive atmosphere and relax before getting ready for the most magical night. We will be resting on the 16th of December. Expect a total of 10 dates on your schedule for the holiday.
