Nazgul Esmakanova, 41, from Atyrau, director of the Caspiy Lana Atyrau textile factory
On the starting point
Our factory was opened in 2015. There’re a great many farms engaged in camels and sheep breeding in Atyrau, Aktobe, Mangystau, and West Kazakhstan regions.
Our raw materials are made in Kazakhstan
Our factory reproduces the full product lifecycle such as sorting, washing, combing and dyeing the textile using natural paints. Dyed hair is turned into yarn and then into the fabric. Therefore, we can make a product of any design.
Our blankets were presented to the guests of EXPO-2017. Europeans who appreciate the quality perfectly understand the benefits of camel wool. They’re really touchy about food, housing and clothes and prefer our blankets. They like the national design and buy our products as a gift.
Principles of eco-work
Our ancestors’ always been engaged in animal husbandry for food and other purposes such as yurts, felt mats and for interior decoration.
Camels are noble with their wool believed to be healing. A man covered with a blanket made of camel's wool is protected from illnesses. Wool pulls a cold out of the body.
Our country prefers "green economy" and we adhere to its principles, creating environmentally friendly domestic products.
We use European technology and Italian equipment
On the product
Our product is hypoallergenic and suitable for children.
We deal with sheep and camel hair. Sheep's wool is tougher and respectively attributed to economy class products. Blankets for the army and railway companies are made from sheep wool too.
We decided to get rid of the quilts familiar to the Soviet people and buy lightweight blankets which are comfortable and let people be free while sleeping.
The productive capacity of the factory is 150 tons of camel wool and 300 tons of sheep wool. We produce about 200 thousand blankets a year.
We’re working through retail chains in Atyrau, Aktau, and Aktobe. In Astana we’ve made an agreement with JSC "Cvetnaya apteka" (Colour pharmacy) selling the blankets as medical products.
On plans
We’re planning to expand the range. Today we additionally make camel hair pillows, quilted blankets and yarn to make scarves and sweaters. Camel hair is to be exported to Italy, Germany, and Turkey.
We’re planning to produce wool as Kazakhstan doesn’t have such production and has to buy imported products.
We design cardigans and capes as well. We’ve developed a collection and produce clothes as an experimental project.
