Kanat Nurtazin , 24, from Kokshetau
Having graduated from university two years ago, I came back to Astana and had lots of free time. Taking a blade and a clerical knife I started carving sheets in a shape of the planet and the flag. I got interested in and started to study other ways to draw.
My project is called "100 WAYS TO DRAW" I’m willing to prove some unusual material to be useful too, as well as paints and pens. I’ve discovered 38 following ways:
1. Carving an apple
You’d better work fast while carving an apple, as it can turn black before you carve and shoot your work.
2. Carving leaves
3. Carving watermelons
4. Painting on a coffee
5. Combination of drawing and reality
6. Pumpkin carving
7. Nutella painting
8. Jam painting
9. Gypsum painting
10. Projection
11. 3D postcards
12. A game of shadows
13. Clerical buttons art
14. A rose and its petal
15. Drawing on a feather
16. Drawing with nails and thread
The first was made in honor of my mom’s birthday. Having drawn the contours and determined dark and light parts, I pound nails and connect them with threads.
17. Kirigami
18. Ketchup painting
19. 3D painting
20. Petals
21. Banksy
22. Pop art
23. Paper punch art
24. Pointillism
25. Photo manipulation
26. Pyrography art (wood burning)
27. Coffee art
28. Body art
29. Double skyline
30. Tape
31. Carton carving
32. Drawing on white chocolate
Last year I exhibited bars of chocolate with Gorillaz, Nursultan Nazarbayev, Golovkin, Beyonce, etc. depicted on. All the works were sold out in 20 minutes.
33. Cubism
34. Spray paint
35. Glass painting
36. T-shirt paining
37. Bead painting
38. Zentangle art
Instagram account strongly motivates me, as people do deserve to see more than selfies. It's nice when your work is liked by subscribers. Recently my work’s been published at WORLDS OF ARTIST popular group having four million readers. That was cool.
Seeing my art in social networks subscribers order me various paintings such as nails portraits or pop art paintings, creative business cards.
Sometimes I co-work with friends and add details to make their drawings realistic.
I’m inspired by different things, e.g. traveling. I worked in Washington and London.
Walking around the city and seeing a building, I got startled with images and associations in my head.
I practice my hobby at night after work mostly. I don’t have art education and have to comprehend everything on my own.
I’m planning to launch a studio teaching all drawing methods.
I'm interested in marketing, so that my works help people promote their products.
I want to create something large, such as drawing on a wall or on the field, and then take a picture from above.
I wish to hold an exhibition of all the 100 works by the end of my project.
