About how to work as a doctor in Israel and earn up to $50,000

About employment

We moved to Israel in February 2017 because I got married and my husband wanted to live in this country.

I came to Israel on Tuesday, and on Thursday I already had a job. Because I previously communicated with people, on arrival I had acquaintances from the sphere of stomatology. In addition, I came to the country as a doctor with an experience of six and a half years. If the doctor has more than five years of experience, he can get a license without exams at the discretion of the Commission.

Consideration of the request by the licensing Commission takes from three months to a year. After that, you can be sent to the exams and will have to give them another nine months.

I got a permit in ten months. These ten months I worked as an assistant six days a week in two clinics.

About features of work

Dental care here is organized as standard. People have insurance. All those who pay insurance, have the opportunity to receive a discount on certain services, and something is covered in full. Dental services, for example, are available at a discount.

Help is available at the clinic. For surgical treatment or regular work on treatment, people go to private clinics.

When I worked in a private clinic in St. Petersburg, the doctors received salary and percentage but did not buy the equipment. In Israel, the percentage that the doctor receives is slightly higher, but the materials and equipment of the doctor buy by themselves. Therefore, many dentists go with suitcases.

Doctors of private clinics are perceived as entrepreneurs

Doctors of private clinics are perceived as entrepreneurs. Every doctor has financial and legal responsibility. And if, for example, there are problems with the patient, the patient sues the doctor, not the clinic. Also in Israel, there is a special insurance — insurance of professional risks, which requires a large annual fee.

Doctors in Israel like to open small clinics. Here are common dental clinics for one or two chairs. The scheme of work is such that the doctor provides himself with materials, partly equipment, looking for patients, doctors doing everything on their own.

I work five days a week for six hours. There is an option to extend records. On average, it takes 35 hours a week to work.

The salary of a dentist consists of percentages and therefore can vary greatly. Accordingly, there are patients — there is a salary, there are no patients — there is no salary. The average monthly salary is about $1500-2000. I'm not in the implant business yet. Implantologists have a higher salary, it can reach $ 5,000.

About life in Israel

Housing and rent in Israel are much higher than in Russia. Rent an apartment costs from 900 to 1900 $ per month. One salary goes to pay for housing and babysitting services. Its services cost from 8.5 to 14 $ per hour. The kindergarten costs $ 500-700 per month. At the age of three, children go to public kindergartens, they are partially subsidized by the state and they are cheaper than private gardens — about $ 300 per month.

There is no maternity leave in Israel. After the birth of the child, there are three and a half months to stay at home. This time is paid. Then you can extend this leave for up to six months, and you will be paid a small allowance and will not be fired from work. But after six months, you must return to work. So I went to work with the baby.

There is no corruption for small businesses, and taxes are not small. When you open a clinic, all stages are easier and faster. The clinic can be opened in two or three months.

We have to work a lot because one salary is not enough

We have to work a lot because one salary is not enough. Many pensioners work after retirement. Most of the income is eaten up by payments for an apartment — housing in Israel is very expensive. If you buy a car, you pay as for two cars. One price is the car itself, the second is the state tax.

My further plans are to open my own clinic. Now I am very busy with it.

About employment

All my life I loved biology. And while I was in school, I was thinking about my major. Medicine was the answer for me. I studied at the university, then practised. I worked as an assistant for a while. But then I started practising and became a dentist.

About features of work

I work in the clinic, and it means that we have a very large flow of people. This is a big plus because the final payment is about $ 2500.

However, it is not easy to work with a large number of people. Exhale is obtained only when someone does not come by the reception. In general, I work all day.

About life in Israel

I am proud of my country, but I believe that maintaining this standard of living requires a lot of work

Israel is ahead of everything — science and medicine. I am proud of my country, but I believe that maintaining this standard of living requires a lot of work. Therefore, when you come to Israel, you need to be ready to work hard. This attitude towards work is very good for personal development.

So far, my plans include the development of my professional skills, as well as entrepreneurship. I want to open my own private clinic. It is not easy, but interesting and profitable.

About employment

I always wanted to be a doctor, all other professions seemed to me absolutely not suitable and not interesting. After graduating from Kiev medical university in 2014, I moved to Israel. Here I successfully passed the exam to confirm the diploma of the doctor. After that, a year of internship and a year as a resident doctor in the speciality «obstetrics and gynaecology».

About features of work

In Israel, there is an insurance medicine based on the work of hospital banks. Every citizen of the country is insured regardless of age and type of activity. People are sure that if necessary, they will receive a full package of services without additional costs. All hospitals are linked, and doctors get information about the patient in just one click. This significantly improves the quality of medical care. The latest discoveries, innovative methods of treatment, the latest drugs-all this is instantly implemented and successfully used.

There are three levels of medical centres in Israel. The largest considered Sheba, Ichilov, Hadassah, Rambam, Children's centre Schneider. In some of them, you can get lost, as they occupy vast territories. These centres accept patients from all over the world with the most severe cases and rare diseases.

Working conditions are equally good in both the public and private sectors

Working conditions are equally good in both the public and private sectors. May vary depending on the speciality and place of work: clinic, hospital, private practice. We have access to any laboratory and additional research methods: ultrasound, CT, MRI. The doctor only needs to take care of the patient.

I am at the level of the doctor-resident — mitmahe. It's a six-year program. My work takes five days a week, eight hours a day, plus shifts. In a month, depending on the workload put five to seven 24-hour shifts. After legal duty, we have to go home.

My duties as a resident doctor include the reception, examination, appointment of treatment to patients. Delivery, a number of operations: cesarean section, different types of laparoscopic and open surgery. Each resident has a list of skills that must be mastered in six years of training.

Doctor's salary depends on specialization and qualification. At the level of an Intern is 8000 shekel about $ 2000 per month. At the level of the resident 15 000 shekalim is about $ 4000. And then it all depends on the hours of work and the uniqueness of the specialist. It is possible to earn 200 000 shekalim per month. By the way, doctors have the highest salaries among civil servants.

About life in Israel

Israel gives you the opportunity to get any speciality and get any job. The main thing is the desire, perseverance, willingness to learn and knowledge of the language — Hebrew.

The list of your expenses in addition to rental housing, food and entertainment definitely include travel. I can't imagine my life without them. It can be both trips abroad and within the country — it is diverse and beautiful. There are also separate expenses for medical conferences, seminars, books.

Israel is a country of opportunities

Israel is a country of opportunities. The country supports young professionals, career prospects are limitless. Doctors can enjoy the latest libraries and access to the world's best knowledge. Each resident conducts a research paper. As a gynaecologist, I will specialize in the fight against infertility.

For the next few years, I plan to complete my residency and get a diploma in obstetrics and gynaecology. And then go to fellowship in the US or Europe and get a narrow specialization in IVF.
