About music

Di Gasn Trio. The name of our band Di Gasn Trio means "street trio". We play acoustic music, which allows us to play wherever we want. It is not necessary to have a bunch of equipment.

Klezmer music is a national Jewish music that can also be heard in Eastern Europe, as the Balkan countries, Serbia, Bulgaria, Greece and Romania. Those countries influenced the formation of music. The name of the music has many meanings. One of the meanings is the interpretation of the words "kle" and "zemer". Kle is a tool, a zemer is a singing.

We play our own music. We want to show that we are different. We want to give new breath to music, using different styles, timbres in singing. Our team is different, we were born and grew up in different families and regions. And we use this experience in our music. For example, we play Iranian music, mix it with the Bulgarian rhythms, because the members of our team have these roots. Our mix gives a new sound to klezmer music.

Our songs are light, some of them in English, and some in Yiddish.

Grossmuetterchen Hatz & Klok. Basically we play klezmer music — it's Jewish dance music, which was originally played at weddings. Now klezmer music blends with the directions of pop, classic and jazz. We want our listeners to dance, to sing and to feel good. We wrote almost 2/3 of our music ourselves.

Vienna is a big city, where there are many Jews. We worked in a theater in which there were many representatives of this nation, and therefore we heard klezmer music.

We combined two groups into one. Therefore, the name of our group is the union of the names of the two previous groups.

Both groups have been playing for six years already, and together we have been playing for a year and a half. We have the same experience: we started with classical and klezmer music.

We sing in English, German and in the language we invented. The new language is a mixture of English, German, Hebrew and the use of dialects. But most of the songs are the sound of instruments, without words.

We sing our songs, but we can also perform national music in our own style. We have about 50-60 songs.

About Astana

Di Gasn Trio. We are in Astana only 12 hours. Of course, the first thing we saw were big buildings, beautiful architecture.

People here are friendly, educated and smiling, they seem relaxed and generous. During this time we visited EXPO and saw the building of Astana Opera. And tomorrow we are going to try the national cuisine.

We will be in Astana for another six days, so we still have time to get acquainted with the city.

Grossmuetterchen Hatz & Klok. In Astana, we are already the third day. Before coming to the country, we heard about Kazakhstan, but not so much. We knew that there was such a country, but did not know that the capital was Astana.

We expected something different, but we saw a developed city with big business centers. We thought it was an old city. Before we came here, we spent six days in Tajikistan, and when we arrived to Astana, we were pleasantly surprised.

We would like to visit other cities of Kazakhstan.
